Presentation &Composition
Topical Solution,Each ml contains:
Cetrimide 37.5 g
Chlorhexidine gluconate 7.98 g
Dosage and Administration
Dilute Savlorin with water, unless otherwise stated .Distilled water is preferable than tap water.
Suggested dilutions in Veterinary Practice:
- Washing surgical equipment: 1 in 200
- Before operation, Scrub-up of hands: 1 in 5
- Skin disinfection: 1 in 30 in 70% alcohol
- Surgical devices, rubber appliances, polyethylene and plastic tubing, Cleaning only (rubber and plastic objects), Cleaning wounds which are heavily contaminated, Routine antiseptic at calving or lambing besides during minor operation, Cleaning hands before and after treatment of livestock and poultry, Cleaning surfaces (floor and walls) in poultry farms, animal units and other livestock quarters, Washing equipments(stalls, feeders, brooders, water troughs, livestock transport), Cleaning protective clothing, boots, etc: 1 in 200
Precautions:
- Dilute before use.
- Strong solution of chlorhexidine compounds can occasionally cause irritation of sensitive tissues such as the conjunctive tissue.
- Avoid accidental oral, rectal or intra-uterine administration of Savlorin.
- Specific antidotes to accidental ingestion of solutions containing cetrimide are mild soap and anionic surfactants.
- Syringes and needles immersed in solution of Savlorin must be thoroughly rinsed in sterile water or saline before using.
Storage:
Store in the original container and protect from heat.
Keep out of reach of children.
